Biography

TOM EAVES – STRIKER
BORN: 14 JANUARY 1992
COUNTRY: ENGLAND

He joined Oldham Athletic's Centre of Excellence as a youth player at Under-15 age group.

He made his Football League debut in January 2010 and made 15 appearances in the 2009/10 season for Oldham, all of them as a substitute. Eaves' breakthrough in the first team soon earned him his first professional contract on a two-year contract. However, Manager Dave Penney claimed that Eaves rejected a new contract and dropped him from the first team unless he resolved his own future.

He joined Bolton Wanderers on a three-year contract for an undisclosed fee on 12 August 2010. Eaves joined the Bolton team on their pre-season tour of America in preparation for the 2011–12 season, but was injured. He didn't return from the injury until the following summer.

On 27 September 2012, Eaves joined League Two Bristol Rovers on a three-month loan deal. Eaves went to make seventeen appearance and scoring seven times in all competitions before returning on to his parent club in December 2012.

In February 2013, Eaves joined Shrewsbury Town on an initial one-month loan deal which later was extended until the end of April. On 1 April, he scored his first senior hat-trick in a 3–0 win against Crawley Town. Weeks after scoring a hat-trick, Eaves was recalled by Bolton.

September 2013 saw Eaves joining League One side Rotherham United on a three-month loan deal. He was recalled by his parent club again in November 2013 after making eight appearance for Rotherham United.

On 28 November 2013, Eaves returned on an emergency loan for Shrewsbury Town initially until January 2014. After he scored on his debut, his loan was later extended to the end of the 2013/14 season.

In November 2014, Eaves found himself going out on loan yet again when he joined League One side Yeovil Town on. Eaves played seven matches for Yeovil without scoring a goal before returning to Bolton at the end of his loan spell.

Eaves joined League Two side Bury on loan until the end of the season. This was his 5th loan move and after making just nine appearance and scoring 1 goal, Eaves returned to his parent club.

At the end of the 2015–16 season, Eaves left Bolton and signed for League Two side Yeovil Town on a one-year deal. At the end of the 2016–17 season, Eaves was released by Yeovil along with five other players.

In his next move, Eaves signed for League One club Gillingham on a two-year deal. He was offered a new contract by Gillingham at the end of the 2018–19 season having scored 21 times in 43 league games.

However, Eaves refused a contract extension at Gillingham and decided to leave becoming a free agent.

On 10 July 2019, he signed for Hull City on a free transfer, penning a three-year contract.
