Our toughest test this season says Lee Dolman…

Saturday
I’m writing this on the way home from Huddersfield, after a few celebratory pints of Guinness.
How fitting that Greaves’ scored both goals on his 200th appearance, at Huddersfield.
Even more impressive was that I saw him pre-match and stressed that this was a must win!
You’re welcome Liam.

The reaction of both players and fans at the end, needs to bottled and released at St. Mary’s.

City
City have showed glimpses of why they are play-off contenders.
Jaden’s brilliance being the highlight but the character of the side, instilled by Liam, has helped us bag 9 points from 12.

Frustratingly we have only won by more than one goal 5 times, even though we have controlled many games.
I would love to see the incredible talent that we have unleashed a bit more.
As the new signings gel and with the return of AFCON Winner Seri, we can only get better.
In Liam we trust and the progress we have made since he returned to Hull has been impressive.

Saints
Southampton is the cruise liner gateway to the World.
The Mayflower successfully sailed from Southampton, as did the tragic Titanic.
I can’t see any icebergs on the horizon for RMS Southampton.
The Saints hit the full speed ahead lever and are now unbeaten in their last 13 home games, winning 12 of them. Averaging 4 goals a game.
Their top scorer Adam Armstrong has 16 goals from 32 games.

The Contest
City will have to be patient, resilient and creative to get anything from St. Mary’s. We will also need to take our chances.
We lost our home game against the Saints in the 95th minute to a Ryan Fraser goal.
The away team opened the scoring but City rallied through a Liam Delap goal and there was little in for 75 minutes.
Then Southampton accelerated and probably deserved their win.

I spoke to Tyler Morton after the Huddersfield game and he said he felt that his leg is just bruised, so fingers crossed, that he will be fit.
Omur with two umlauts, has looked impressive in his two short cameo appearances.
I would like to see either Ohio or Connolly start tonight.

Summary
This is our toughest test this season, so far.
Southampton are at full strength and looking for a 10th consecutive home win.

This is our game in hand. A chance to cement our top six place, if we can get something.
With just 3 points between 5th and 9th every point is vital.
My head says a Saints win BUT City can rise to the challenger.
If we can take whatever chances we create tonight then who knows.

Prediction: Saints 2v2 Tigers

City line up:
Allsop
Coyle
Greaves
Jones
Giles
Tufan
Omur
Philogene
Traore
Zaroury
