The Tigers will face Leyton Orient, who secured a return to the EFL after winning the Vanarama National League title this season, whilst on their training camp in Marbella on Tuesday 9th July. The game will be played at the Marbella Football Center and will kick-off at 7.30pm local time.
A first friendly fixture on English soil comes with a trip to the One Call Stadium to face another League Two outfit in Mansfield Town on Saturday 20th July (KO 3pm). It will be the Tigers’ first visit to the home of the Stags since the summer of 2016, when the two sides met in another pre-season encounter ahead of the 2016/17 Premier League campaign, with Jarrod Bowen scoring the only goal of the game in a 1-0 win.
Nigel Adkins’ men will certainly be put to the test by John Dempster’s side, who will look to mount another promotion challenge next season after finishing fourth in League Two last term before losing to Newport County on penalties in the semi-finals of the play-offs
The Tigers will round off their preparations for the campaign with a trip to the Keepmoat Stadium to face League One Doncaster Rovers on Saturday 27th July (KO 2pm) – just seven days shy of the new Sky Bet Championship season which starts on Saturday 3rd August.
Grant McCann’s side also reached the play-offs in 2018/19 – finishing sixth in the third tier of English football – before losing out to eventual winners Charlton Athletic on penalties in the semi-finals.
The Keepmoat Stadium hasn’t been the happiest of hunting grounds in recent years though with the Tigers yet to taste victory in any of their four competitive visits to Doncaster since Rovers moved into their new home in 2007.
More details on further fixtures – including a second match in Marbella – will be announced in the coming weeks so keep an eye on www.hullcitytigers.com and the Club’s social media channels to keep right up to speed with all the latest information.
