From the Kings Road to Anlaby Road!

It is not often that we welcome such esteemed visitors to East Yorkshire as those who hail from the Royal Borough of Kensington & Chelsea.

Though that is not strictly true as despite our visitors holding their famous name, their famous old Stamford Bridge Stadium is located in the next borough of Hammersmith & Fulham.

If you have ever had the pleasure of having a wander round Chelsea you will have witnessed such sights as Sloane Square well known for being an epicentre of luxury shopping, high-end fashion, and prestige.

You may also have crossed Chelsea bridge which was built during the great depression and links Chelsea on the north bank of the River Thames and Battersea on the South Bank, home of Battersea Power Station.

Chelsea is also home to the Saatchi Gallery located on the Kings Road which is famous for being a premier fashion, shopping, and cultural destination, historically serving as the place to be during the 1960s "Swinging London" scene.

The most famous building located in SW3 is the Royal Hospital Chelsea which is home to the famous Chelsea Pensioners. The noticeable scarlet uniforms are worn by the in pensioners who are all retired army veterans and are cared for by fabulous staff in state of the art facilities.

Myself being the great grandson of a former resident of the hospital when I make visits I find it a fabulous place and this is where Chelsea FC get one of the nicknames from.

So onto tonight’s game and the return of three ex Tigers, we welcome back Liam Rosenior and thank him for his time in charge and playing for the club, along with his assistant Justin Walker and striker Liam Delap.

Of course Chelsea and their world billion pound squad are household names mainly Enzo Fernandes, Joao Pedro and Cole Palmer to name just three.

The Blues arrive in East Yorkshire not just sitting 5th in the Premier League Table on forty four points but as world club champions and still in the Uefa Champions League, but they were held to two all draw on Tuesday night by Leeds United at Stamford Bridge.

City know they will have to be at their absolute best to defeat the blues but the news coming out the training ground this week with potentially Charlie Hughes and Toby Collyer being doubtful but the remainder of the available players should be ok.

We have had eleven meetings in the FA Cup with the Blues so far, six in East Yorkshire and five in the capital. Eight wins to Chelsea and three draws so could tonight be the night to finally claim a scalp for The Tigers.

The most famous of these ties was in March 1966 as Cliff Brittons Third Division North side headed to London for a quarter final tie and managed to claim a replay with a 2-2 draw with two goals from Ken Wagstaff in front of 46,324. Unfortunately, City lost the replay 3-1 as 45,328 attended Boothferry Park.

For the first time since 2022 we are graced with the presence of the BBC Sport cameras and also those from TNT Sports so should the boys pull off a shock it will be seen around the world.

City Predicted Line Up: Pandur, Coyle, McNair, Egan, Giles, Slater, Lundstram, Millar, Joseph, Gelhardt, McBurnie
