On the back of a fantastic win against Sunderland on Tuesday night City will be hoping they can conclude their pre season preparations on Saturday as they host La Liga side Getafe CF to the MKM Stadium.
The Madrid based side will arrive after a 13th place finish in the Spanish top flight last season and are managed by José Bordalás.
Getafe Club de Fútbol were founded in 1983 after their previous existence Club Deportivo Peña Getafe were liquidated a year earlier.
It has been a busy week at the MKM with a raft of new arrivals, Joel Ndala has arrived on loan from Manchester City, Akin Famewo from Sheffield Wednesday also John Lundstram and Enis Destan from Trabzonspor.
Getafe CF are the third Spanish side to grace the hallowed turf of HU3 with
CA Osasuna visited in 2008 and went home with a 1-0 win in what was City’s final friendly before their maiden Premier League campaign.
The last time we hosted a Spanish side was club stalwarts Andy Dawson testimonial in 2013 as we saw off Real Betis Balompié 3-0.
Ahead of the big kick off at Coventry next week Sergej Jakirović will be looking to improve again on Tuesdays performance which seemed to be high tempo and very possession based and must have impressed the bulk of the crowd that attended.
He will also be hoping to add again to his ranks this week with an attacker needed and lets hope we can get one through the door before next weeks trip to Warwickshire.
