Hull City AFC vs Cardiff City Saturday 28th September 3pm

As Hull City celebrate their 120th anniversary, lets hope it can be made extra special with our first home win of the season...........

On what is going to be a special afternoon come Saturday as Hull City celebrate their 120th anniversary, The Tigers welcome old foes Cardiff City to the MKM Stadium in what is their first home 3pm kick off of the season.

With a legends parade planned for pre kick off let’s see if any of the current side can impress those returning and claim a vital first home three points of the season.

The Bluebirds will arrive in East Yorkshire bottom of the Championship table and managerless after they parted company with Erol Bulut following last weeks defeat to Leeds in South Wales.

However as there is a renewed optimism for Tim Walter and his players after coming back from a goal down at Stoke last Friday to claim their first win of the season which with an hour gone at the BET 365 stadium those of us that made the trip couldn’t see happening but that’s football.

City could welcome back Charlie Hughes into the matchday squad following appendix surgery but the game may come too soon for him, also due to miss are Ryan Longman and Doğukan Sinik who are back in training but not yet ready to return.

City and Cardiff are no strangers to one another with The Bluebirds visiting thirteen times since the stadium opened and with only two away wins in that time a home win is usually the outcome in this fixture.

If we can claim another three points it would set us up nicely going into two away games at QPR and Norwich, both grounds we were defeated on last season so getting results at both of those would be nice and would also give the fans a confidence boost in the side and Walter that it could be a successful season
