Who doesn’t love the FA Cup 3rd round, where the Giants meet the Minnows. 64 teams left and all dreaming of a Wembley FA Cup Final.
Wrexham have already knocked out the two times European Champions, Forest and incredibly, 6th tier Macclesfield eliminated Premier League Crystal Palace.
Hull City face Championship rivals Blackburn Rovers and will be looking for revenge after a 0v3 home thrashing early in the season.
With so many key players unavailable, Sergej will inevitably look to fresh faces. He does get the best out out of everyone, as was evident with Cathal McCarthy’s performance at The Riverside.
Some City fans might say “let’s focus on the league and getting into the playoffs” but with a decent squad, why can’t we do both and increase our revenue too.
Blackburn have won 8 of their last 12 away ties in the FA Cup. Their away form is better than their home form lately. So we will need to be at our best to win this.
If we do succeed, then we’re in the draw with just 31 other teams, 50% of which will be Premier League sides and a chance of glamourous money spinning tie.
I’ve watched Hull City since the late 70’s and nothing beats the 2014 FA Cup Final, despite the result. It would be fantastic to return and win it. Wigan and Wimbledon have both won it, so why can’t we?
Let’s hope the game is on after last weeks disappointment. Watford fans, quite rightly moaned about the postponement. However, not all Hull City fans still live in Hull.
From my group, we had round trips of, 140 miles (West Yorkshire), 240 miles(Liverpool), 400 miles (London) and 15,400 miles (Tokyo). We won’t get free coach travel or food for our inconvenience.
Please give us a Cup run Sergej, boost the profile of our club and bring in money to help with recruitment.
Just imagine Acun at Wembley!
