Hull City AFC v Preston North End Tuesday 30th September 7.45pm - Match Preview by James Chestney

Our first home match under the lights - hoping for back to back home wins..........

They say the schedule is hectic in the Skybet Championship and we are starting to get into the nitty gritty games as just 3 days will have passed since Saturdays disappointing defeat at Watford. A game in truth that should have been all but wrapped up for the Tigers by half time but poor finishing meant we went in only 1-0 up and with a poor second half performance we down to a 2-1 defeat

So onto Tuesday night and a visit of a side well known to the Tiges faithful in Preston North End. In the last twenty years since City’s return to the Championship after their years in the doldrums, The Lilywhites have visited twelve times and City have claimed seven wins against them.

Reports on Monday said that Semi Ajayi could be in line for a return for the first time since the opening day draw at Coventry and with Liam Miller making the bench on Saturday he could possibly get onto the field for his first minutes since October 2024 and the home draw with Burnley.

Should we be able to claim three points it would lift us back into mid table ready for the big Yorkshire Derby clash on Saturday with Chris Wilders' Sheffield United.

Predicted Line Up: Pandur, Coyle, Ajayi, Hughes, Giles, Hadžiahmetović, Lundstram, Drameh, Joseph, Gelhardt, McBurnie

Prediction City 2 Preston 1
