4th game of a 46 game season and our second road trip away, this time to Bristol City and a team that plays an important part of our history given that it was "That Goal" by Deano that sank the Robin's hopes of Premiership football back in 2008 who could only look on as we ascended to the promised land for the first time in our Hull City Lives.
As a triviality, Hull & Bristol share film locations for the Only Fools and Horses film, "To Hull & Back". Hull as we know had a number of filming locations but also the "London" home of Del, Rodders and Uncle Albert, Nelson Mandella Towers, was actually Whitemead House in Bristol which overlooks Ashton gate so on no occasion can we allow a bunch of wallies to turn up in black and amber on Saturday.
A great ground to which I have been to many a time, situated opposite a lovely park and has also had a make over during the 2015/16 season when Maloney rasped in the 1 - 0 winner on the 73rd minute. A ground well worth a visit but one we are not so fortunate at. We have to go back 8 games for our last win and the last 7 have yielded just 2 points from a possible 21 having drawn 2 and losing 5 on the bounce until our last visit when Pedro scored in our 1-1 draw under Selles but it has to be said that Nigel Adkins provided the most exciting away draw of our Ashton Gate meetings in 2018 with an insane 5 - 5 draw.
So onto Saturday's visit. Bristol sitting in 9th place on 5 points with a win and then two draws meets The Tigers in 15th place on 4 points with a win, a draw and a loss will see City as the underdog as The Robins are technically unbeaten this season while we will visit the Cathedral City licking our wounds from a lacklustre performance against Blackburn but thankfully and hopefully, bar any transfer activity we should have our main defender and natural leader Hughes back where he belongs.
Strong rumours of a virus going around the dressing room was apparently the reason for our pedestrian outing V Rovers and hope all players are recovered and rested for a bounce back and feel Belloumi may get a start or possibly a sub on for Ndala that has impressed so far and a great asset to our campaign this season and a possible showing from Williams and Destan.
Akintola a very keen addition to our squad and chomping at the bit whenever he comes on could add that extra push on Saturday but don't think Sergej will be brave enough just yet to start him. Palmer looks a man on a mission and love his energy is a must start and hopefully Oli who was in Macca's back pocket all last game shakes off his defenders far better at Bristol to add to his goal tally and kick on up the table.
My Prediction is 2 - 2
4-4-2
Pandur
Drameh - Hughes - Egan - Giles
Geldhardt - Lundstram - Palmer - Ndala
Mc Burnie - Destan
