Through our Welton quizzes

“1 in 3 people will experience some form of mental health problem in any given year. Hull and East Yorkshire Mind are here to make sure anyone with a mental health problem has somewhere to turn for advice and support. For more information call 01482 240200 or email info@heymind.org.uk”.

We were looking for a new charity to support throughout 2019 with our fundraising from our quizzes at The Green Dragon. It’s been usual in the past for us to support a cause linked in some way to Hull City but where possible, local so that our community can benefit. We thought no different this year, and linking the English Football League’s support for the national MIND charity (their logo is on each League player’s shirt number), we quite promptly saw the chance to help Hull and East Yorkshire MIND was one we couldn’t resist.

Club Ambassador Dean Windass was also keen that we supported a charity close to his heart & this fits the bill completely.

For many, mental health problems are difficult to know how to react to / help. We are lucky to have this local expertise on hand to advise and support us, and we want to do our bit to raise awareness of and ensure that the services offered by HEY MIND (one to one support, group support, accommodation, training, information) continue.

We’ve already made a great start to our fundraising as the first of our Welton quizzes took place earlier this week and we were delighted that “Mind the Gaps” - The HEY MIND team joined us....we quiz again at The Green Dragon on Monday 4th February. We look forward to seeing you there.
