Hull City supporters are urged to find the ‘eye of the tiger’ in support of Andy’s – the children’s unit at St Andrew’s Hospice – by entering a raffle to win a life-size, cuddly version of the club’s famed, ferocious mascot.

The tiger was donated by one of the Hospice’s supporters, with the hope of raising funds for the children’s unit, after being won in a competition at the Yorkshire Wildlife Park.

Now it is looking for a new home and to raise some funds for the hospice’s children’s service, which supports babies and young people from 0-25 years of age across the East Riding and Hull.

Tigers’ fans are encouraged to come to the Airco Arena, near the KCOM Stadium in Hull prior to ‘roaring’ their team onto victory on Saturday 7th April.

Representatives of St Andrew’s Hospice will be on hand to raffle off the tiger on the day, with tickets costing just £1 per go.

Alison Lark is a St Andrew’s Hospice representative and she is looking forward to giving the hospice’s striped friend a new home. She said: “We were shocked to see a life-size tiger in our reception area at the hospice one day!
“But it was actually a kind donation from one of our supporters.
“He has proven to be very popular with our staff members but it’s now time to find him a new home.
“We immediately thought of our supporters in Hull – the Tigers’ name is synonymous with Hull City and this would make the perfect addition to any young fan’s home.”

Kathryn Townsley is Chair of Hull City Supporters Club and she spoke of their support of the hospice.
She added: “We’re delighted to help St Andrew’s Hospice and we’re hoping we can find the tiger a new home.
“Hopefully lots of Hull City fans will have a go on the raffle for a great cause and they have the chance of having their own life-size Tigers’ mascot at the end of the day!”
