Thank you Welton quizzers.

Wow! We couldn’t have anticipated that happening!

Monday night saw the last Green Dragon quiz of the year and it was indeed a biggie.

Dean Windass, Hull City’s Club Ambassador assisted our usual Open the Box ticket seller Fiona early on, with ticket sales meaning a fantastic £368.50 was the cash jackpot for one lucky winner. All boxes were opened on the night, so thanks also to The Green Dragon, Napoleons Casinos Hull and The Stags Head Inn, Lelley for their prize donations, and congratulations to all winners.

As far as the quiz itself was concerned, 15 teams in total entered, and joint winners on the night were Santa’s Big Helpers and Team Tiger Totty, taking away the drinks vouchers and bottle of wine respectively.

But the huge news was that we managed to raise the cumulative year’s total of just less than £850 to a little over £1000 on the night, and OSC Chair Kathryn Townsley and Dean Windass we’re able to formally present to Diane Derbyshire representing Headway, the brain injury association, a cheque for a magnificent £1003.70.

Diane then took to the mic to explain how the money will be used and a little about the work of the charity.

Thank you to everyone for their support over the last 3 years at The Green Dragon, especially landlord Andy and his staff who look after everyone the first Monday of each month.

We’ll see you again in 2019, with our 1st charity quiz of the New Year taking place on Monday 7th January at 8.30pm.
