OSC Chair, Kathryn Townsley was joined by Hull City Club Ambassador Dean Windass and ex player Darren France earlier today to present 5 TVs and 7 Digital Radios to Sue Fridlington (Housekeeper) and nursing staff from Ward 33 at Castle Hill Hospital.
The equipment was purchased after over £630 was raised during last year through the OSC monthly pub quizzes at the Green Dragon Welton, and Housekeeper Sue was delighted by the donation ‘We are most grateful for your fundraising as it helps in enabling our patients stay on Ward 33 to have as many home comforts as possible’.
A special mention for Curry’s / PC World in Clough Road, Hull for donating one of the Radios at the time of purchase.
The cause was chosen due to Darren having received treatment on this Ward 7 years ago, and is close to both his and Dean’s heart.
The OSCs fundraising quizzes continue at the Green Dragon on the 1st Monday of every month, with the chosen cause this year being Headway, the brain injury association. Check our events calendar for more details.
