6 aside football tournament

We were privileged to be able to help out at a 6 aside football tournament which took place at the South Holderness 3G pitches on Saturday 2nd June, in aid of The Daniel Wilkinson Foundation, one of the main charities we support.

The event was expertly organised by Tony and Josh, 2 of Daniel’s close friends, with 12 teams taking part.

After the qualifying round robin leagues, quarter and semi finals, The De Gea Boys (pictured) won a fiercely contested final by 3 goals to 1, watched by the majority of those who’d taken part in some way shape or form during the day, as well as Roary the Tiger plus chaperone Tom, who we thank the Tigers Trust for loaning out for a couple of hours in the afternoon.

Will, our Finance Director played for the ‘Custard Creams’, another of the teams, but unfortunately, they suffered a very early exit in the competition.

A signed 17/18 Hull City home shirt which we raffled raised over £100 to add to the rest of the money collected on the day, and was won by an incredulous Jasmine who ‘never wins anything’, back at the Station pub in Hedon later in the afternoon.

Thank you to everyone on the day for making us feel so welcome, the work the Foundation does is fantastic, and we were pleased to see that this week, their 10th defibrillator had been handed out to another sporting group, this time in Hornsea.
