A brief summary.

Our AGM took place last Saturday, 26th May at 11.30am at the Airco Arena, with a mix of Board members, OSC members and interested parties attending.

Following a cheque presentation to the Electric Eels (see separate news item), the minutes of the 2017 AGM were approved, and the Secretary, Melvyn Utley advised that the last year had been a busy one from his perspective with changes to Directors, the recent GDPR legislation coming in and also progressing the OSC's move to a Community Interest Company.

Will Jordan, who during the year, had taken the role of Finance Officer following the resignation of John Barron, gave a summary of the OSC's income and expenditure for the year to 31st December 2017, which resulted in a small loss. Will was duly proposed and seconded as Finance Director, a position he accepted.

Kathryn Townsley remains the Chair, John Williams the Vice-Chairman, and Melvyn Utley continues as Secretary, with website and Data Controller responsibilities.
It was recorded the OSC still has volunteer opportunities for anyone wishing to get involved in events organisation, marketing and media, and membership, as currently those duties are being shared across the team.

A whistle stop review of the year was given by Kathryn which recognised that it's been a busy period for the OSC, which has seen us deliver on our aims in a wide variety of ways, yet also one which thrown up unexpected challenges. Kathryn placed on record the OSC's thanks to "one time" 2017/18 Directors Di Koziol, John Barron, Andy Moore and Richard Uttley for their huge contribution to the OSC, and also to Keith Harvey for his work in establishing the OSC a new avenue with our very own Golf Society, and through it has recruited a sizable membership.

The meeting closed at 1pm.
