Biography

BORN: 18 DECEMBER 1993
HEIGHT: 191cm
COUNTRY: ENGLAND

Born in High Wycombe, Matt Ingram joined hometown club Wycombe Wanderers as a youngster in 2010. It was while learning his trade as a first-year scholar, that Ingram was called up at just 17, to the first-team squad, for a League Two match in September 2010. He did however only manage appearing on the substitutes’ bench.

Matt was selected for an England goalkeeping training camp in January 2011 and made a notable achievement, in that he was the only representative, from a League Two club, to be included.

He then had loan spells at Conference South club, Hayes & Yeading United and Conference North club, Oxford City before being handed his first-team debut for Wycombe, against Accrington Stanley in March 2013.

Ingram began the 2013/14 season as Wycombe’s first-choice goalkeeper and had a season to remember as he was named as the Football League’s Young Player of the Month for September, in 2014. He then went on to bag a hat-trick of awards at the end of the season, including the Supporters’ Player of the Year.

This impressive form did not go unnoticed and led to a move to the Championship, with Queens Park Rangers, signing during the January transfer window of 2016. Chances were limited for Ingram during the 2016/17 season mainly due to the excellent form of Alex Smithies. He began the 2017/18 season on loan at Northampton returning to QPR in the latter stages of the campaign.

Matt joined Hull City from Queens Park Rangers in June 2019, signing a three-year deal.
