Hull City will be hoping to mark the end of the international break with a win against Preston North End on Saturday, starting a busy schedule of three matches in a week for The Tigers. Both sides have just two wins each in 12 league games this season and with 43 goals conceded between the two, this could be a very good game.

Tigers coach Nigel Adkins has confirmed that Evandro is a doubt, as are Eric Lichaj, Stephen Kingsley and Angus MacDonald. Fraizer Campbell and Jordy de Wijs are training again, so are returning internationals Kamil Grosicki, Jackson Irvine and Markus Henriksen but with a busy schedule coming up, those players are unlikely to all make appearances.

If Lichaj, Kingsley and de Wijs miss out then we may see a start for one or two of the younger players, namely Adam Curry and Robbie McKenzie, with a possible lack of defensive options in a four or five-man defence.

With Evandro potentially missing in the number 10 role, Adkins may opt to play in a 5-4-1 formation having played well against Boro and Leeds United with this style. Despite being a very negative style, City are rock bottom and need points to avoid the drop this season, so any chance to win points should be taken.

Preston have had more luck than City in front of goal, with four players on 3+ goals this season, compared to just two for City in Jarrod Bowen and Jackson Irvine. However, City have conceded five less goals than their counterparts, 24 compared to 19. With these stats, it seems likely that there will be goals on Saturday in this relegation battle.

Potential Starting XI:

Formation: 5-4-1

GK: David Marshall
RB: Eric Lichaj
CB: Reece Burke
CB: Tommy Elphick
CB: Adam Curry
LB: Todd Kane
RM: Jarrod Bowen
CM: Markus Henriksen (C)
CM: Daniel Batty
LM: Kamil Grosicki
ST: Chris Martin
