A 2 year deal

Hull City are pleased to announce the signing of defender Ryan Tafazolli on a two-year contract.

27 year-old Tafazolli, who has been training with the Tigers on trial for a number of weeks, was a free agent after his contract at the Peterborough United came to an end last month and has agreed a deal which will keep him at the KCOM Stadium until 2021, with the Club also holding the option of adding a further year.

The towering 6’5” Iranian-English centre back bolsters the Tigers’ defensive options ahead of the upcoming season and featured prominently during the Club’s recent pre-season training camp in Marbella, finding the back of the net against Lincoln Red Imps.

Having started his career within the Southampton Academy, Tafazolli has enjoyed extended spells with Mansfield Town and Peterborough United, making a combined 210 appearances at the two-clubs in a seven-year period.

The Tigers have beaten off interest from a number of other clubs to land the signature of the defender, who expressed his delight at joining the Club:

“I'm delighted to have signed for the club - it's a fantastic opportunity and one which I'm determined to grab with both hands," he said.

"I've enjoyed my time here so far and it was a great experience to be with the squad for a week or so over in Marbella.

"To finally sign and have my future sorted is a fantastic feeling. My only focus now is to work harder than I've ever worked before and give my all for Hull City.”
