FANS HAD FUN AT THE AIRCO ARENA BAR

It goes without saying winning the game 6 – 1 is something we all enjoyed. Our pre-match guest on Saturday was former striker John Hawley who persistently stated throughout the interview that Hull would win the game 5 -1. I think most fans at the Airco, which included a good bunch from Birmingham City, all thought Mr Hawley’s prediction was typical of a striker, a bit on the optimistic side.

John Hawley is very a much a part of the furniture at Hull City, where he carries out sterling work entertaining fans, as those who are fortunate enough to have experienced the sponsors lounge will testify. However the entertainment was far from over in the Airco Arena where several youngsters tried their luck at the crossbar challenge. A promising young footballer, called Sammy Rowan managed to win a host of goodies by hitting with his second attempt. A very big thank you goes to the Tigers Sport & Education Trust who provided the prize for the winner. Sammy (featured in the photograph above) plays his football with North Ferriby United under 11s, so well done Sammy and we look forward to see you turning out for the Hull City First team in a few years’ time.

Not to leave out the adults, there is also prize of a meal for two at the Hull branch of the Ask Italian Restaurant, which you will find located adjacent to Hull Marina. Just like the juniors the adults need that magic touch to strike the cross bar in order to win the prize. This week the prize went unclaimed so that will carry forward to the next home match.

JOHN'S 'IMPOSSIBLE' HAT-TRICK

And finally the HCOSC would like to congratulate the City fan 'South Stand John' who at half time managed to strike the cross bar not once but on three consecutive attempts. I cannot recall ever seeing that before, either at a match, or on TV. If you missed it, here it is care of TigersTV.
