Tigers Take On Blackburn At KCOM

After Tuesday’s League Cup success, Hull City will be looking to secure their first league win of the season against newly promoted side Blackburn Rovers. Blackburn are also looking for their first league win of the season having only managed to draw their previous two league games.

Nigel Adkins is likely to return to the side that has played both league games so far although a couple of players may be giving him a headache in terms of team selection. Angus MacDonald had a solid game in the cup and after a few shaky moments from Jordy de Wijs, we could see MacDonald return to the starting lineup. Jon Toral also had a fantastic game in the cup but after Evandro has performed so well this season, it is likely that if we see Toral it will be from the bench.

The game against Blackburn will also give Adkins a chance to see if he can make any more additions to his squad before the loan window closes on August 31st. After the loss of Abel Hernandez, Adkins could be looking into a striker who can score goals after Fraizer Campbell and Nouha Dicko had less than prolific seasons last year, although it will be difficult to find a goalscorer so late in the window.

Blackburn will start with their own goalscorer Danny Graham who amassed 14 league goals last season. A player City fans will know well from his hugely disappointing loan spell at the Tigers in which he was only able to manage one goal. But after playing in the lower leagues it will be interesting to see whether he can continue that form in a more challenging league.
